'Hey Are You Okay' - the book
Can a book truly be a lifeline? Absolutely, especially when it's crafted with love and empathy, just like mine.
In just 5 phases, we'll embark on a heartfelt journey together – from uncertainty to tranquility, hand in hand. I'll share with you the very stories, tips, and exercises that lifted me from the depths of despair, and I'm confident they'll do the same for you, whether you're facing depression, anxiety, burnout, or any other challenges life throws your way.
Worried about overwhelming text? Don't fret! My words are short, handwritten with love and adorned with illustrations, ensuring a gentle and nurturing reading experience. After all, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to focus when your mind feels like a whirlwind.
And please, remember this: you're never alone. I'll remind you of that often. Whatever you're experiencing, whatever you're feeling – it's all part of being human. And trust me, it does get better. And for those skeptics out there (like I once was), I'm here for you within these pages.
This isn't just my book; it's yours too. With ample space for your own reflections and notes, it's designed to be a comforting presence on your nightstand, a soft touchstone crafted from sustainable FSC paper, spanning 228 pages at 22.5 cm by 22.5 cm.
But what truly sets it apart is its heartwarming endorsements. Recommended by psychologists, therapists, and mental health professionals, it seamlessly complements existing therapy or coaching sessions. It's been praised by respected figures such as TV psychologist Saskia and acclaimed publications like Psychology Magazine. Many readers even bring it to their therapy sessions for collaborative work.
Still unsure? Take a peek at the countless reviews, DMs, and messages flooding in from our community of over 30,000 readers who've walked this path before you. Or drop us an email at hello@heyareyouokay.com with any questions or concerns you may have. Because above all, I want you to know you're not alone, okay? Even in the darkest moments, there's always a glimmer of hope – even if you can't see it just yet.
This book, born from my own struggles, has now blossomed into a beacon of light for thousands of individuals worldwide. And as it spreads its wings in Australia and New Zealand, reaching even more souls in need of solace, I'm endlessly grateful that my darkest days have become a source of illumination for so many. And I hope it can do the same for you too.

Absolutely great book, really helpful. I like how you have been quite comical in your stories etc, made me smile which I had not done for quite a while. Thank you so much.
I just wanted to say that I have never found a book that has made me sit in happy tears every night after reading it. I feel accomplished and worthy and like you can completely read my mind - which makes me feel safe. I love that your book hey, are you okay? Has so many different spaces and empowering quotes and doesn’t make me feel completely overwhelmed!
You may have saved/helped a lot of people with this book and I just wanted to say I am truly thankful.
Got caught up in all the hype on social media - this was being advertised on all my platforms so I gave in and bought it. Had I seen this in a bookshop I would have left it there. Now gathering dust on my bookshelf until I have a clear out and toss it in the tip. Sorry but this isn’t anything special and not worth the price.
I recently purchased this beautiful self help book....I suffer from severe depression and anxiety.....I was at my lowest point when I saw this fabulous book online....I have bought so many over the years....gave up as found them very patronising....how can anyone understand depression and anxiety and how dehabilitating it makes you.....this book is so so different it's starting to help slowly towards hopefully recovery.....marieke writes this book beautifully and honestly....she has been there herself so knows the struggles we are facing....I couldn't be without my precious book as its so fun to right in and all the funny images....its a really fun book about a serious illness....I can't thank marieke enough for giving me hope for a better life....she has become an inspiration to me
